Intended Use: Homocysteine Test Kit (Enzymatic Cycling Method) is intended for quantitative in vitro determination of HCY (hemocysteine) concentration in serum on photometric systems. HCY is a kind of sulfur-containing amino acid produced by methionine metabolism, 80% of HCY will combine with protein through disulfide bond in the blood and few parts of free HCR will participate into circulation.

The concentration of HCR in vivo is closely related to the CVD (cardiovascular disease) and is a significant risk factor of CVD incidence. The increasing concentration of HCY results from artery blood vessel hurt caused by stimulating vascular wall, leading to the formation of inflammation and vascular wall plaque. Finally, the heart blood will be blocked. Patients of HCY enuresis will transfer into high hemocysteinemia due to the influence of HCY metabolism caused by severe genetic defects. The lack of B-group vitamin will be accompanied by mild increase of HCY and increase the risk of heart disease.
